NIDA

Where It Began

Nida is where this collection begins. I didn’t want its fragrance to be simply about pine forests or the sea. To me, Nida has always been much more than that: sun-warmed sand, dry wood, the evening sun, grasses by the dunes, and that unique sense of calm when there is no longer any need to rush. That is why the fragrance is built around cedar and saffron, layered with oak and amber. Together, they create a dry warmth that feels heated by the sun. Wild fig adds a gentle touch of greenery, while notes of lavender, cedar, and vanilla make the fragrance softer and more serene. This is not my Nida at midday. It is Nida when the sand is still warm, but the day is already drawing to a close.

Care

  1. 01First burn: let the wax pool reach the edge of the vessel — roughly 2–3 hours. This sets the memory of the wax and prevents tunnelling.
  2. 02Trim the wick to 5 mm before every burn for a clean, even flame and no soot.
  3. 03Never burn for longer than four hours at a time, and always on a heat-safe surface away from draughts.
  4. 04Stop burning when 10 mm of wax remains, then wash the vessel with warm water and keep it for what comes next.
